Athletics Day
On Thursday 18th March we all walked to Lincoln Park to take part in Athletics Day. We showed our families and friends our excellent skills. We took part in the 50m and 100m Sprints, Long Jump, High Jump, Discus and Shotput. We enjoyed the sausage sizzle at lunchtime. After lunch we took part in some novelty relay races, watched the House Relays and cheered on the Teachers in their relay race. We walked back to school with our buddy class and talked about our great day.

People Who Help Us In Our School Community
As part of our Inquiry Learning we have been thinking and talking about people in our Community. We made a list of all the people who help us and then chose an occupation that we wanted to learn more about. The children chose the Dental Therapist. We invited the Dental Therapist to come and visit our class. We then talked with our buddies about the information we wanted to find out from the Dental Therapist. We made a list of the things we were wondering about. Our questions included - What do you do in the Dental Clinic? How do you fix our teeth? What instruments do you use? Why did you become a Dental Therapist? How do you become a Dental therapist? What is the best thing abut your job?
We made some great discoveries! Talk to your children about the Dental Therapist's answers to these questions and you will too!

We Have A Blog!
I am really excited to have a new blog. We are going be putting photos, writing, artwork and special school events on the blog. We hope our families enjoy viewing our learning.
Our caterpillar has been eating and eating and growing fatter each day. We wondered how long it would take to turn into its chrysalis.

One morning we arrived at school to find the caterpillar had made its chrysalis. We had to be very careful to keep it safe.

We noticed the chrysalis beginning to turn orange, yellow and brown. A few days later we watched the butterfly push out of the chrysalis.

We watched the butterfly unfold its wings and stretch them out. About three hours later we took the butterfly outside and set it free!
The children in Room 12 have now seen the Life Cycle of the Monarch Butterfly. What a fantastic learning experience!
